Citronella
Cymbopogon genus.
Citronella is distilled from the Cymbopogon Asian grass, or “lemon balm” because of its citrus-like, floral aroma.
Medicinally, especially in Asia, Citronella is used for rashes, infections, and other medicinal applications. It is most commonly used as bug repellent, especially for mosquitos. it is used as a general catch-all insect repellent, antifungal agent, to treat parasitic infections, promote wound healing, lift mood, fight fatigue, food additive, and perfume enhancer. In folk beliefs, it is used for wound healing especially diabetes, anti-inflammation, weight loss, lowering cholesterol, and other uses but does not have scientific evidence backing the beliefs.
