Of the parsley herb family, Gotu Kola is common in the traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic apothecaries. According to folklore, it is used for scars, stretch marks, varicose veins, burns, poor circulation, and some potential reputation for diabetes, decreasing fluid retention, preventing hardening of the arteries, reduce risk of heart attacks, treating excess car tissue, scarring, schistosomiasis, bladder wounds, blood clots, eczema, memory and thinking skills, anxiety, common cold, flu, diarrhea, fatigue, hepatitis, indigestion, jaundice, sunstroke, tonsilitis, urinary tract infection, and much more. There is no scientific evidence to support the folklore at this time.
Some state that Gotu Kola has certain chemicals that seem to decrease inflammation and blood pressure in veins, and that is why it’s good for getting rid of scarring and stretch marks.
